Halifax-based singer, rapper, drummer, producer, and storyteller making alternative R&B and hip-hop with rock, funk, and soul influences. Nico brings years of live performance experience into a solo project built around vocals, drums, sample pads, and passionate songwriting.

Trained as a classical percussionist while rocking out in garage bands, Nicolae turned away from the music of empire to study R&B, Jazz, and other contemporary forms of music with historical black roots. Nico creates music that blends heartfelt vocals, thoughtful lyricism, live instrumentation, and maximalist production. His songs explore love, lust, power, resistance, fantasy, and self-reflection, drawing from influences like Michael Jackson, Prince, All the way to Rage Against the Machine.

As both a musician and professional Dungeon Master, Nico uses storytelling, fantasy, and transformation to allude to real life. His music is R&B with teeth: music with a conscience, made to move bodies, hearts, and minds.
